Penny (Silver, 20 mm, 1.33 g, 6 h), long cross type, moneyer Godric, probably Hertford. ✠AEDELRED REX ANGLO Bare-headed and draped bust of Aethelred II to left. Rev. GODRIC MΩO IORT Voided long cross with triple crescent ends. SCBC 1151. Very rare. The flan slightly wavy and with minor marks on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

The location of the IORT mint was considered uncertain for a long time. It was, for example, loosely attributed to an unidentified mint in Ireland for a while
